Labor Day Weekend

I know, I'm a week late on this. It's amazing how quickly time flies. Anyway, here are a few pictures from our trip last weekend. We drove up to KC and picked up Lauren & Tyler. The car ride was very crowded. Throw in a stinky dog and a long drive and you can imagine how uncomfortable it was for the kids. (I got to sit in the front so it wasn't that bad for me.)
For some stange reason, Maggie decided to sit on Tanner's lap. Normally, Tanner isn't that interested in Maggie, but it was cute that she was so insistant on sitting on his lap. He was gracious enough to let her.
My Mom's house is less than a block from Walgreens. Over the years it has been a favorite hangout for my kids. They would go to Walgreens several times a day, always coming home with some small purchase or another.
We went to the Mississippi River just to look around. There were a lot of people fishing. We went to a spot where Tim first fished for Spoonbill in the early 80's. A few years later he caught a state record Spoonbill in Kansas.

We drove around town and saw many places that hold memories for us. This especially holds a lot of memories for Tim. This is at Palmer Chiropractic College.

We dropped in on my brother Patrick.

He has a really fancy entertainment system and an extensive DVD collection. He was doing some upgrading on it when we were there. Everyone was facinated with the number of DVD's he has and how he has several hundred pre-loaded into his system so he can watch them instantly without digging through piles of cases.

Everyone settled in and seemed to enjoy themselves. Tim & Tanner watched football.

Lauren spent a little free time on the computer. (She showed me some fun decorating blog sites I plan on frequenting.)
Taylor, Tyler, & Jordan have a favorite computer game that they often play. They spent some time taking turns playing while we were there.
Mom did lots of cooking-always delicious!
We didn't get to see much of my Dad, but we were able to get a quick lunch with him before we left town at my favorite pizza place in Iowa-Harris Pizza.
